by Tom Conn | Posted on Monday, July 7th, 2014

Argentine international winger, Angel Di Maria suffered a torn right hamstring in Friday’s 1-0 win over Belgium and despite being ruled out of action for the remainder of the tournament, Di Maria Is undergoing stem-cell treatment in hopes of making the 2014 World Cup final next weekend.

DiMaria

According to Spanish sports daily, AS, Di Maria is so determined to join his teammates, should they reach the World Cup final, that he has decided to undergo stem cell treatment, similar to that used by Diego Costa ahead of the Champions League final, in order to fight for football’s grandest prize.

The medical procedure is used to regenerate damaged cells using the patient’s own healthy cells, with the primary object being to reduce inflammation and repair the torn muscle tissue.

In addition to the treatment, Di Maria will also undergo the standard treatment for this injury; ice, kinesiology, electro pulse stimulation and some rehabilitation exercises in the swimming pool.

“Woke up this morning and am “aware” of my surroundings. I guess in other words I’m not a zombie. Haven’t been this clear in years. And the headache i’ve had all week is GONE!”

A women who has been battling Multiple Sclerosis, wheel chair bound for two years, unable to grasp objects due to severe shaking, and dealing with daily Brainfog, was treated with stem cells here in the United States two weeks ago.   For the first time in two years she was walking with the assistance of a cane and able to grasp her morning coffee cup and this was ONLY AFTER TEN DAYS!!!

Jack Osbourne

It’s a shame that Son of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Osbourne has had to travel to Germany to undergo stem cell replacement therapy to treat his Multiple Sclerosis, when he could have been treated here in the United States..  Jack, who went public about his health crisis last summer, said he is currently feeling well and getting plenty of rest – despite being a new dad to nine-month-old daughter Pearl.

“There are odd restrictions here in America because everybody still thinks it’s, like, what it isn’t. So I’m going to Germany. They pull stem cells from your own blood then inject them back into you.  Hopefully it will repair any damaged cells and nerves and things like that.” said Jack.

CHRISTOPHER REEVE’S STEM CELL SPINAL CORD MISTAKE

A SAD BIRTHDAY FOR CHRISTOPHER REEVE

Christopher Reeve would most likely have reached his 60th birthday today had he focused on adult stem cell treatments instead of embryonic.

Adult stem cell treatments have produced significant therapeutic benefits in Spinal cord injury patients for years.  Patients have regained sensation in the extremities, bladder and bowel control and even the ability to walk.  It is sad that a misinformed or misguided and certainly limited focus on embryonic stem cells resulted in the loss of potential for this iconic actor to recover from spinal cord injury.

…if her face looks even more younger and radiates with more glow these days, there’s a more potent elixir for the 55-year-old celebrity doctor, in addition to the daily doses of Hayden that she is taking, to thank for, and it is called stem-cell treatment

Vicki Belo confesses

THE interview was supposed to last no more than 15 minutes, but Vicki Belo revealed such compelling anecdotes about her lover Hayden Kho and her colorful career that executive producer Giselle Ordinario and director Monti Parungao there and then decided to devote the entire 30-minutes of Cocktales talk show to the celebrity dermatologist.Did you know that Vicki, for instance, had tried to match Hayden with her daughter Cristalle, even setting up a date for the two?

But no matter how hard her mother pushed, Cristalle was not smitten by the good-looking doctor, preferring her Lebanese boyfriend instead. As it turned out, it was actually the mother, as we now know, who has the hots on her daughter’s date.

Lest we get ahead of the show, check out the Vicki Belo episode this Sunday, a Christmas Day special, at 9:30 p.m. on AksyonTV. Watch Vicki’s body language when she starts talking about Hayden, especially when asked about the May-December affair.

APATHY, IGNORANCE OR BLINDNESS?

In CELEBRITIES & STEM CELLS on October 6, 2011 at 1:27 am

I posted this on Montel William’s Facebook page:

“I just received 13 pages of new Stem Cell Treatments for MS info. There is editing and translation and I am trying to get fully substantiated results for these treatments…if you are interested in reviewing the info.”

https://i0.wp.com/img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2008/specials/fall_tv/blog/080211/montel_williams_240x320.jpg

SO SAD!:

It was removed within 10 seconds of my posting it on Montel’s page.  Why would they not want to know about new treatments?  Don’t they have a responsibility as leaders of social media to share new treatment info with their followers?

It’s really a damn shame.  Christopher Reeves died chasing embryonic stem cells while adult stem cells have given the ability to walk to paraplegics.  Michael J Fox chases embryonic stem cells while adult stem cells have 60-70% success treating Parkinson’s disease.  The brilliant visionary Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer never knowing about a number of successful cancer treatments.  The blind can now see.  Diabetics are off insulin.  Heart transplant patients play tennis with their own heart healed.

It’s time people!!  If you know any leaders in media, corporate or politics; please refer them to me and I will personally explain to them why so many people do not have to die today.

ELIZABETH TAYLOR DIES – CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE – aged 79

Elizabeth Taylor dies of congestive heart failure!!

A devastating loss to American and World culture, film and screen and one of the most cherished and greatest characters of our time.  What strikes me as particularly troubling is that perhaps it could have been avoided.  Elizabeth Taylor suffered from congestive heart failure since 2004.  Congestive heart failure has been treated successfully outside the USA since 2004…and I’ll bet she and her loved ones (all multiple millions of them)  had no idea that there were other options out there. Adult stem cell treatments can lower a congestive heart failure patient from stage 3 or 4 to stage 1 or 2, can double Ejection Fractions and can do so in about 70% of patients.  A tragic loss. -dg

It’s Always Sunny Recap: Mac’s Big Break

Mac’s not the next Wayne Gretzky.

October 8, 2010

By Andrew Ebanks

The newest episode of Always Sunny had everything I could ask for in an show: a discussion of stem cell research interlaced with duck quacks, gunfire and laser sound effects, jabronis and the appearance of Louis Steven’s dad from Even Stevens (Tom Virtue).  Charlie and Mac answer a radio trivia question and get the opportunity to take a shot from center ice in order to win VIP passes to a beach house party. While this may be a minor prize that would mean very little to a majority of the population, Mac figures its his big break to get his name in with Philadelphia’s star athletes. Meanwhile, Dennis and Dee  start a podcast after Frank begins taping their interesting conversations. They make a studio in the back office, because their back office has no work related purpose, and record themselves talking about the important issues, sadly at the cost of taping over Frank’s Luther Vandross mix.

Dennis and Dee’s radio show had a lot of potential by  bringing in recurring characters like the Waitress, Dee’s ex-boyfriend Ben and Rickety Cricket. Of the three, Rickety Cricket really stood out in this episode with some of the most random, funny lines that I would put on par with Tracy Jordon in 30 Rock. Frank lures him into the bar with the promise of a rotisserie chicken, but ends up only giving him a bag of lemons. When asked to provide tales of his life as a homeless person, Cricket retells his latest adventure of aroused dogs sniffing at the scar on his neck from when Frank hit him with a trash can: “Does my scar look like a dog’s vagina? I’m not gonna sit here and try and get inside the mind of a dog. I mean that’s God work. Not that I believe in God, not since that Chinamen stole my kidney”. Cricket’s and Dee’s romantic past gets brought up and when Cricket announces that Dee is a whore, she rebuts: “You’re a whore you stupid, ugly homeless bitch! Well, a dog banged your neck the other day!”With expert timing and finesse, Cricket replies: “Well at least someone’s banging my vagina, you know what I’m saying?!” Classic.

Frank also lures in Ben to talk “about how he and Dee used to bang” and the Waitress by promising her an apology from Dennis, a fact that Dennis said makes her “incredibly gullible and stupid.” At that point, one would think that the Waitress would just storm out, but Frank’s Jedi powers of persuasion keep her there with the promise of $500 if she took off her top and drank soup from his shoe. Surprisingly, she agrees, but because Cricket couldn’t find any soup, they decide to pour a bucket of dirty dishwater on her head for free.

In preparation for the upcoming contest, Charlie has to train Mac into hockey playing shape. Considering that Mac’s response to “touch your toes” is “What am I? A gymnast?,”the only thing that will work in such a short amount of time is a montage to the sound of “Push it to the Limit.” We get some classic movie montage moments of Mac learning how to skate, learning how to take shots on goal and drinking egg yolk as well as some non-movie montage moments of Mac throwing up the aforementioned egg and trying on wigs so that his hair will look like it flows once he makes the shot.

Mac and Charlie come prepared for the contest with Mac in his token duster and Charlie wearing an America flag as a cape. As the music blares and Charlie and Mac skate out onto the rink to do a dance, I was wondering if Mac would actually succeed. As Mac gives the radio hosts a copy of Dennis and Dee’s radio show, calls them “Jabronis” (a cool hockey term according to himself and  Charlie), and skates away with the swoop of his duster, I was somewhat concerned at this burst confidence. As Mac winds up and shoots the puck so hard it creates a crater in the cardboard cut out goalie, I began having second thoughts about reality. In actuality, as soon as Mac skated onto the ice, he tripped over himself and fell unconscious. As the big screens replay Mac’s tripping, complete with radio -style “boing” noises, Charlie sums up the end of the episode best: “I think you’re gonna be a sports celebrity after all, because they’re definitely gonna play that shit on ESPN.”

This was the episode I’ve been waiting for since the show premiered this season. I sincerely hope that this wasn’t a fluke and that more episodes like it are in the coming weeks.

Ever since celebrity activists John Lennon and Yoko Ono slid under the sheets and called the press for the Bed in for Peace, celebrities have been using the glare of the spotlight to illuminate a cause. After all, who else but the rich and famous can better spread the word to their adoring fans about their latest altruistic agenda?

Some seem to come from a pure place in leading the charge. Michael J. Fox, who himself has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, is the champion for advancements in stem cell research on Capitol Hill. While political activists like Jane Fonda have been vilified for maybe not conveying their celebrity activist message in the best way possible.

Enter Wyclef Jean. The Haitian born hip-hop star and producer has been working on behalf of the Haitian people for a long time. After Hurricane Jeanne hit the country in 2004 he established the often-controversial Yele Haiti Scholarship. But when a devastating earthquake ravaged his homeland earlier this year, he really kicked it into high gear for Haiti. Now comes word that Jean might even make a run for President of the country and rule the nation for five years.

Would this officially make him the biggest celebrity activist of all time?

Willy Wonka star GENE WILDER — on beyond Oompa Loompas.

The legendary comic actor says he’s found the secret to extending his life — his two new dogs!

At a reading of his new collection of short stories – What Is This Thing Called Love? – at a New York City bookstore , the cancer survivor, 76, gushed about brand-new pooches Maltese and Maltipoo.

“When we got them, I figured they would either shorten my life or lengthen my life,” he quipped, sitting on stage with fourth wife, Karen Webb.

“I wasn’t really sure which it would be. But now I think they are lengthening it, because we play together and we have a lot of fun together.”

Gene – famous for his roles in Blazing Saddles, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, The Frisco Kid and Young Frankenstein – battled non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1999.

He went through chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, and in 2002 doctors confirmed his cancer was in remission.

Although Gene appeared frail-looking, he and wife Karen seemed happy together.

Gene and Karen, 59, met in 1988 when Karen worked as a speech pathologist and Gene was researching his role as a deaf man for See No Evil, Hear No Evil with Richard Pryor.

He reconnected with her after third wife Gilda Radner’s death from ovarian cancer in 1989, and the two married in 1991.

“I know what love is now, and I’ve found it,” said Gene. “She’s sitting right next to me.”
