This kind of thing makes me so angry. Some guy practices without a license and tarnishes all of the legitimate stem cell treatment centers out there.  What an a$$! – dg

Federal prosecutors in Nevada allege an 84-year-old Las Vegas man reaped about $1 million from patients and investors with claims that he was a retired physician with a stem cell medical procedure.

An indictment unsealed Thursday alleges Alfred Sapse had unidentified doctors in Las Vegas and Mexico perform experimental surgical implants of placential tissue in about 134 patients over the last four years.

Sapse pleaded not guilty to 20 mail and wire fraud charges. A U.S. magistrate judge let him remain free without bond. Trial was set Sept. 20.

An indictment says Sapse claimed to be a retired physician who studied in Ukraine, but had no medical license in Nevada or any other state.

It alleges Sapse created StemCell Pharma Inc. in May 2005 as part of the scheme.
