I know many patients that have had to travel over seas for cord blood stem cell treatments for a variety of disorders including autism, these patients have all shown significant progress and are thankfull of their progress. You’ve made no mention of cord blood stem cells, which are banked and used internationally 15 years, largely for the treatment of hematologic malignancy, but with increasing favor in regenerative medicine. They too can become induced pluripotiential cells.

Cord blood HAS been used extensively and with good results. It’s possible that they are only trumped by autologous (from the patient’s own body) stem cells. Cord blood has an easier time being typed matched and avoiding rejection because they are so “young.”
Although I’ve had a little trouble discerning your full meaning when I read “Screw the Embryos, They’re Irrelevant”, now that I’ve read your mission statement, it does seem as if you are attempting to get out the TRUTH: that adult stem cells research and treatments have been very successful, while embryonic stem cells research have thus far produced no results. I want to commend you on this effort and would like to link to your site from everywhere I can — I have a number of sites and blogs tho all in their infancy. Opponents of embryonic stem cell research (yeah, you know them as the “religious right”) have been trying to make this known for YEARS, but are drowned out as “uncaring” when it is the incessant (& moronic) fight to allow embryonic stem cells to be used, while ignoring the great successes of adult stem cells treatments that is costing lives. The American people NEED to hear and know this information, so that adult stem cells research and treatment can begin in this country and lives can begin to be saved and quality of life improved. Yes, Screw the embryos! Bring on the legal adult stem cells research and treatments!!!
